Software Developer/Web Services

We have an opening for a Software Developer/Web Services. This position will be located in Hollywood, CA.

Summary:

Will support and further the development of a suite of web based software services, both internal to Deluxe and client facing. Will complete and refine a major workflow tool and affect its rollout to multiple companies. Challenges of this position include a competitive environment, changing development technologies, system upgrades, new business demands and a constantly changing environment.

Responsibilities:

- Responsibilities involve application support for existing internal web services at all Creative Services facilities, including code maintenance and bug fixes.

- Work with user base to refine feature sets and respond to emerging software requirements, documentation, communication and user training.

- Stay abreast of developments in the Web Services arena.

- Work continually towards self-development to stay current on user requirements, and internal operational needs.

- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- Strong ability to interact with other departments in the business unit.

- Good interpersonal skills and an open mind to multiple use cases and feature requests.

- Strong planning, organizational and time management skills.

- Strong ability to identify clear priorities and meet department goals.

Requirements:

- Java/JSP required.

- Knowledge of modern techniques like Ajax and JSON, Python a plus.

- Knowledge of Internet and network security required.

- Working knowledge of network architecture, in order to function in a clustered server environment, serving multiple geographies.

- Ability to apply logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.

- Ability to deal with difficult concepts.

- Ability to prepare and make comprehensive presentations and professionally communicate before an audience.
