POSITION PURPOSE:
The position focuses on the management of teams and projects designed to further develop Industry Relations and Organizing opportunities for SAG members. The position will aid in and engage in managing and providing essential research, forecasting, and the development and management of Industry relationships as it relates to the creation of opportunities and organizing efforts on behalf of SAG members. The individual who assumes this role will be key in the creation and maintenance of opportunities in all areas of entertainment, new media interactive media and evolving platforms on behalf of SAG and will need to develop a deep and practical understanding of the entertainment Industry at large, including but not limited to, film, television, new media, digital platforms, interactive, commercial and all evolving platforms and content areas as it relates to and impacts performers. The individual charged with this role will be actively aiding the Executive Director in making effective recommendations, participating in outreach efforts, initiating innovative strategies for expanding SAG’s robust presence in all areas on entertainment, content development and in managing committees, staff, and member outreach in branches.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Identifies, prioritizes and manages outreach targets and business development opportunities on behalf of SAG in consultation with the Executive Director, Industry Relations. Aid in and participate in the strategic development of Industry relationships and partnerships to encourage the expansion of opportunities for members in all areas.
• Acts as a liaison to the entertainment and new technology communities to build and foster relationships to better understand and more effectively pursue all traditional business and new technology opportunities for members.
• Negotiates with third parties to organize business development opportunities, panels, events, workshops and social events. Manager, Industry Relations will participate in and represent SAG at these events.
• Participates in and aids Executive Director, Industry Relations on a project-by-project basis at the direction of the Executive Director.
• Will execute the creation of reports and presentations.
• Participates in and is a public face of Industry Relations and Organizing public messaging works in conjunction with SAG Communications and any other relevant departments to contribute to the Guild’s online and print publications.
• Strategically advises department staff on feedback from outreach and events garnered through research and business contacts.
• Assists and manages staff development through training, coaching and evaluations.
• Collaborates with New Media, Communications, Diversity, SAG Indie, Research and Economics, and Contracts Departments nationally to achieve Guild-wide new media objectives.
• Manages research projects regarding entertainment, new media business models and new technology to provide guidance to the Guild enabling proactive protection of members’ interests under current and future contracts.
• Works in conjunction with departments at large to forecast future business practices as it affects member opportunity.
• Aids in initiating revisions and recommendations to senior management regarding potential refinements to SAG contracts and business practices to more effectively and efficiently serve members and the business needs of the ever evolving entertainment, new media, interactive and content creating community at large.
• Attends committee meetings; educates members on any and all relevant, entertainment, complex technology and contract issues affecting our members in any way.
• Acts as a liaison to various entertainment and technology related committees as needed.
• Coordinates and prepares agendas for various entertainment and technology related committees as needed.
• Will represent the Industry Relations and Organizing department at public events and forums at the direction of the Executive Director of Industry Relations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined by SAG’s sole discretion.
• Must be available and willing to work flexible schedule, extended hours (and/or overtime for applicable non- exempt positions) per day or per week, including weekends and holidays, as SAG determines is necessary to meet its business needs
• Must be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as SAG determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience:
Min. 3-5 years entertainment and/or relevant industry experience in above mentioned fields
Minimum 2 years experience in direct collaboration with Management to achieve desired results.
Pre-existing entertainment industry contacts a plus.
Entertainment labor union experience a plus.
Spanish language skills a plus
Bachelors degree a plus.
