This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship
Job Description: Production Company seeking interns for:
Start Date: February 22, 2010 - March 22, 2010 (30-day probationary period) March 23, 2009 - June 23, 2010 (with option to extend internship 3 months or to become an Associate)
Location: Tampa, FL (Telecommute/Work at Home)
Schedule: Monday - Sunday, 15 hours/week
Our music production company has successfully recorded with mainstream and indy artists, and we are currently re-focusing our efforts towards the development of our own artists. If you are motivated, creative, resourceful and interested in an entry-level position in the music industry, here's your opportunity.
Position Summary: Intern will act as an informational source for music industry contacts and artists. Their primary functions will be connecting our company with performing artists, songwriters and business representatives, and assisting with traditional and viral marketing campaigns. Sourcing, networking, and data management are constant activities that are keys to successfully performing within this position.
Responsibilities:
-Research, initiate and maintain contact with music industry representatives.
-Seek out potential artists and songwriters by attending events and searching online sources or personal contacts. Provide detailed report to the A&R.
-Follow-up with administrative team about progress of project(s).
-Attend in-person meetings, teleconferences and webinars related to the music industry.
-Attend studio sessions.
-Assist other team members with completion of projects and assignments.
Interpersonal
-Demonstrate a strong interest in developing a music industry career.
-Understanding of when to be assertive, persuasive, formal or informal.
-Ability to effectively communicate in various settings: within a group or with individuals, over the phone or electronically.
-Create correspondence or presentations that contain correct grammar, punctuation and using appropriate format and software.
-Remain organized using the tools provided by the company combined with your own methods.
-Consistently meet deadlines, multitask and follow through with duties.
-Ability to successfully work independently and with a team.
-Ability to manage confidential information.
-Potential to grasp new concepts, present new ideas and grow into a music industry expert.

Job Requirements: Education:
Required - Two years completed at a college or university, or an Associates Degree in Music Management, Business or Liberal Arts/Humanities
Preferred - Bachelors Degree in Music, Business, or Liberal Arts/Humanities
Work Experience:
Required - At least one year of experience in an office environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Technical
-Must own a computer or laptop with cable, dsl or wireless internet.
-Must own a cell phone.
-Must have access to personal or public transportation.
-Intermediate level user of Microsoft Office 2003-2007, Adobe Acrobat, Web Browsers.
-Quick to learn database and application navigation
