Our Dino Ranch team is looking for a highly skilled Production Manager to help bring this new production to it's full potential!
You'll get to:
- Support the Producer throughout the production, from pre-production through to delivery
- Supervise and provide support, mentorship and guidance to Production Coordinators and Production Assistants
- Act as interim Producer when Producer is absent
- Help develop, create, and manage production schedules and budgets for each department
- Coordinate with Department Heads and clients to manage all deliverables and deadlines, and ensure that weekly quotas and department milestones will be met on schedule
- Partner with Department Heads and Senior Management to manage and document any conflict within each department, and obtain counsel from HR if disciplinary action is required
- Check in regularly with crew and address any issues as they arise, and conduct scheduled artist check-ins and performance reviews
- Work with Production Coordinators and Assistants to assign appropriate workloads to crew and ensure that quotas are realistic and achievable
- Manage the production pipeline and work with Department Heads to make any necessary changes throughout the course of production
- Maintain solid understanding of how changes may affect the budget, scheduling, and overtime, and contribute strategic problem-solving ideas to improve workflow and process
- Ensure that budget and scheduling documents are updated as changes are made to production flow and/or staffing needs
- Strategize with the Producer and CG Supervisor on how to resolve any complexity overages in the budget if they arise
- Help resolve any production and/or inventory issues that arise and flag any related impact on the budget, schedule, and overtime to the Producer
- Track and report retake budget
- Attend Director approvals and assist in driving meetings when required
- Assist Recruitment team in recruitment efforts and conduct interviews with prospective employees as required
- Assist with studio-wide training initiatives for Production staff
- Participate in production management of additional studio projects, such as development projects, when needed
- Other tasks and responsibilities as needed
This will be your JAM if you have:
- 5+ years production experience
- Completed post-secondary education in production or other relevant area of study
- A solid understanding of CG Animation, 2D Animation or Visual Effects production
- Previous experience with Shotgun is required
- Previous experience with ToonBoom Harmony is a definite asset
- Experience with other production management software system(s) is an asset
- An intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the confidence to interact with all levels of employees and clients
- Superior organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and a strong attention to detail
- Excellent leadership skills and the ability to manage conflicting interests
- A positive, approachable demeanor and attitude
- Capability of performing well in a fast-paced, high-energy environment while remaining self-motivated and proactive
- Availability to work flexible hours on occasion to meet challenging deadlines
- Demonstrated interest in working in animation production
