Scope of Role:
The US Sales Director's primary purpose is to work closely with the VP, Sales US & Global Accounts to deliver sales of the ITV Global Entertainment portfolio of programs in the US market. The US market is one of the largest territories for ITV, and one where there has been significant growth. The successful candidate will leverage existing relationships and develop new ones to drive revenue and achieve profit targets in the territory.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Strategize, forecast, and deliver specific sales targets in the US.
• Drive US sales for drama and factual content across all platforms including TV, digital, and home entertainment.
• Day-to-day sales responsibility for ITV Global Entertainment's content portfolio in the US, including finished sales and co-production opportunities across drama, factual, movies, and kids genres.
• Expand the range of clients in the territory.
• Understand content availability and use creative windowing to maximize utility and revenue across the catalogue.
• Manage the day to day relationship with Britbox - a key partner for ITV in the US.
• Maximize relationships with emerging AVOD partners to drive revenue.
• Develop strong relationships at multiple levels within each client to understand overall content strategy and opportunities.
• Secure placement for kids properties that help drive consumer products activity.
• Implement strategies for ITV's North American DVD & DTO business in conjunction with VP, Sales - Canada.
• Work in close coordination with legal, production, marketing, operations, rights, and finance support functions.
Qualifications / Requirements:
The ideal candidate should be university educated and must demonstrate solid business acumen, strong sales experience, and an ability to build and maintain a diverse array of relationships.
A minimum of 3 years' experience in television sales or network acquisitions are desired.
Abilities and Characteristics Required:
• Understanding of the US and UK television and digital marketplace.
• Active listener and agile diplomat who can quickly gain the confidence of partners.
• A compelling, persuasive and engaging representative of ITVSGE, both internally and to the industry at large.
• An enthusiastic and performance-oriented individual who can deliver against aggressive financial targets.
• A strong and proactive networker, with established contacts and strong relationships within the US creative and entertainment communities.
• Someone who possesses strong oral and writing skills and has the ability to present themselves in a clear and compelling manner.
• Strong Microsoft Office and Google Docs skills
