Full Time Job
Imagine is seeking a candidate to help build and manage the production finance function and activities for its divisions, including television, features, and documentaries. The manager will partner with cross functional teams to create systems and track details of financial projections and actual spend related to production, including divisional production teams and production accountants, Business Affairs and Corporate Finance.
Responsibilities:
• Manage cash flow and funding processes
• Maintain accounting procedures manual and standardize across divisions
• Work with Corporate Finance to maintain reporting of cash flow for multi-year strategic and annual operating plans, quarterly closes and re-forecasts throughout the calendar year including spend for production, development, residuals as well as original license fee and tax credit collections
• Coordinate residuals reporting - manage information flow and requests between 3rd party residuals consultants and internal divisions
• Manage tax credit application and collection process
• Provide pre-production accounting services for Imagine productions; help oversee post-production accounting needs
• Devise and implement processes improvement initiatives for areas including cost reporting, wrap accounting, billing and tax credits
• Liaise with Physical Production to ensure accurate and timely reporting of production costs
• Work with Production Executives and Production Finance Executives on weekly cost estimates
• Ensure implementation of minimum best practices, financial controls and cash management
Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years experience in production finance / accounting
• Bachelor's of Business or Accounting required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
• Familiarity with industry standard budgeting software (Movie Magic)
• Detailed understanding of scripted and/or unscripted production
• Ability to extract necessary information from show specific budgets
• Strong communication, organizational and processing skills
• Adept at anticipating potential issues, identifying problems, recommending and implementing solutions; escalating as needed
• Ability to succinctly and efficiently correspond with internal and external partners
Skills:
• Comfortable working in a changing environment requiring the creation or improvement of processes
• Self-motivated with a heightened sense of ownership for work
• Team-player who demonstrates professionalism and discretion when dealing with co-workers, studio partners and other third parties
• Excellent written and communication skills
