iLuminate is a company based on the fusion of technology and dance. Our one-of-a-kind technology is a tool that enables lighting technicians, wardrobe specialists, engineers, artistic directors, choreographers, and performers to collaborate and produce explosive performances with customized wireless lighting programs. We are currently seeking a Corporate Technical Director who loves working with new technologies in a fast paced and creative environment!
This is a very hands on position! Soldering, live event experience, and comfort with computers is required. The Corporate Technical Director will facilitate the building and maintaining of the light suits for performances, ordering technical supplies and lights, maintaining inventory for the Technical Department, and sourcing new materials as necessary. This person will be responsible for the hiring and training of new technicians. The right candidate must be very dexterous, meticulous in his/her work, highly organized, and an effective communicator. Much of our communication is done via email and we have many spreadsheets/documentation that must be properly maintained so organization skills is a must.
Additional requirements include but are not limited to:
* Minimum of 2 years experience as a live event technician and/ or shop supervisor
* Prior soldering and wiring experience
* Experience working with EL wire & LED lights a plus
* Good hand dexterity, attentiveness to detail, efficiency, and speed
* Excellent computer skills (email, web search, spreadsheets, google docs)
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to locate, train, and supervise over hire shop technicians for builds/ projects
* Ability to keep inventory and stock all technical supplies for the shop & live shows
* Must be self motivated, have initiative, and always resourceful
* Ability to work well as a part of a team as well as individually with little to no supervision
* Must keep shop technical areas organized at all times
* Interest in experimenting new technologies
* Ability travel both domestically and internationally is a plus
* Creative and curious with a strong technological and mechanical background to help oversee project builds of new light suits and props.
** Schedule flexibility (3 - 5 days/ week)
** This is a part-time, contracted position with opportunity for growth/ full-time for the right fit!!
