Interactive Designer Intern
The Ignition Interactive internship allows trainees to gain hands-on experience in the creative process for developing interactive advertising for theatrical, television, home entertainment, and gaming market for US releases. Interns will brainstorm collectively with the department on new project ideas, learn to prioritize, and time-manage work with the help of a producer's direction. Our projects include websites, phone applications, banners, games, augmented reality features, motion posters, and interactive displays.
The internship periods are flexible, but generally last anywhere between 3-6 months. The internship is full time (40 hrs/wk), paid, and located in Santa Monica, CA. Housing and transportation will not be provided. College Students and Graduates accepted.
What we are looking for: We are looking for a passionate individual who is self-motivated, a team player, and a brilliant problem solver, able to adhere to strict deadlines, with a great eye for detail. You will be working with the team to conceptualize innovative ideas using the newest technologies to create emotional experiences.
Key Duties:
• Support the efforts of Ignition Interactive producers and senior members of creative staff
• Create designs, concepts and layouts based on knowledge of layout principles, typography, color theory and other aesthetic design concepts
• Confer with members of staff to discuss, determine and brainstorm design and creative concepts
• Develop design and creative concepts for additional media, when assigned. Media may include interactive (all formats), print, motion, identity or 3D.
• Commit to quality and standards of Ignition Interactive work output
Abilities and Competencies:
• 1- 2 years experience designing print, web or motion projects
• Outstanding portfolio of work
• Superb eye for detail
• Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash, After Effects, etc.
• Impeccable organizational skills; ability to archive images, photos and previous work products is a must
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal); able to communicate problems/issues clearly with co-workers and supervisors
• Able to think through, evaluate and solve problems logically
• Able to analyze and discuss creative concepts in a clear, rational and objective manner
• Must be able to work on multiple projects and excel in a fast-paced team environment
• Strong values, ethics and integrity
• Punctuality is a must.
