Senior Manager, CRM (Email Marketing)
SUMMARY
This strategic, analytical and leadership role calls for a strategic marketer with demonstrable experience in email and push notification marketing to drive engagement, reduce churn, and grow subscribers through re-acquisition. As the subject-matter expert and team lead, you are responsible for setting the strategy for email and push channels and the vision for how they will evolve to meet the dynamic needs of Hulu's business. This role will work as part of a cross functional and collaborative team and play a key role in driving subscriber engagement. Email and push are vital communication tools that play a significant role in engagement and we are looking for someone with a history of building and scaling complex and automated marketing programs across both channels. The right candidate for this role will have deep experience developing and implementing CRM marketing programs that resulted in a significant lift in the growth of a business while also developing a team of strong marketers.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Oversee the email and push notification programs, leading overall strategy, creative direction, daily calendaring and operations, new capability requirements, monitoring, and optimization.
• Lead a team of 7 marketers, providing day-to-day feedback, guidance on business priorities, and long term career coaching.
• Manage an additional team of on and off-site contractors
• Oversee the creation and execution of all email and push notification campaigns
• Work with data, product and technology teams to define feature and data requirements to develop and expand the capabilities of our communication channels and improve the intelligence and tools available for relevant, personalized, real-time marketing.
• Drive the team to develop complex journeys, triggers and automations with static and dynamic content
• Consistently evaluate and develop new design, messaging, and functionality of email/push for the most effective campaigns
• Enthusiastically drive the email/push calendar and provide recommendations on strategies that drive engagement without over contacting our subscribers
• Produce weekly/monthly status reports that detail KPIs, results and strategic insights that guide ongoing campaigns and communicate results to upper management
• Monitor deliverability and ensure CAN-SPAM compliance to maintain high deliverability, data hygiene and channel health.
• Maintain pulse on industry trends and standard methodologies, technologies, competitive landscape, etc. and apply those findings
• Prioritize projects, ensure adequate staffing and resourcing, manage relationships with agencies and vendors.
• Represent email and push channels at cross-functional meetings.
WHAT TO BRING
• Established track record of recruiting, leading, coaching, and developing high-performing teams
• At least 7 years of experience in leading all aspects of email and push marketing (CRM) for a subscription business.
• Consistent record of creating, implementing and optimizing complex CRM programs to meet business goals.
• Experience working with product, tech and data teams for complex data/tech requirements gathering, documentation and QA
• Highly proficient in email technology (Salesforce) and audience segmentation (SAS) tools
• Thorough understanding of HTML/CSS, responsive design, SQL and data mining experience pulling complex segments/lists
• Impeccable attention to detail, deadlines and accuracy
• Ability to partner with stakeholders and build effective working relationships across the organization
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with ability to think strategically, creatively, and analytically.
• Positive attitude and ability to operate in an ever-changing environment with ambiguity; requires being fearless.
• BA or BS Degree required
