SUMMARY
Hulu's Distribution and Partnerships team is seeking a Manager who will be an exceptional addition to our Partnerships team. As a Manager in the Partnerships team, you will report directly to the Director Partnerships and be an integral part of the group responsible for growing Hulu's new live linear service (Hulu MVPD) and driving distribution of the Hulu app in cooperation with major MVPD, wireless and broadband partners. You will assist the Director with the carriage agreement negotiations with TV networks and the management of major network accounts. In addition, you'll work closely with the leading MVPDs and wireless companies to manage the distribution and marketing of the Hulu app on their platforms. The right person for this role is a self-starter, eager to learn, well-versed in the streaming media ecosystem and experienced in navigating cross-functional relationships within and outside an organization. She/He has exceptional communication and organizational skills and is able to work with networks, distribution partners and internal departments including the broader Distribution team, Marketing, Product, Technology, Finance and Legal to build consensus around mutually beneficial opportunities. Finally, she/he thinks big, learns quickly, and approaches everything with enthusiasm.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Assist Director with the management and growth of business relationships with Hulu's core MVPD, broadband, wireless and network providers.
• Track and communicate key industry trends, analysis and actionable insights to help assess potential new partnerships as well as opportunities with existing partners
• Proactively stay current and develop a point-of-view on new digital media trends and monitor an evolving landscape
• Participate in the review of documents associated with Hulu's carriage and distribution agreements
• Create financial models related to the economic requirements of the carriage and distribution agreements and track offers
• Develop processes and create documents necessary for the internal dissemination of key carriage agreement terms
• Conduct and support efforts to drive subscriber growth of Hulu's subscription offerings through MVPD, wireless, and broadband partnerships
• Manage a set of MVPD and broadband partner relationships, fostering teamwork-based collaboration and executing across all stages of the partnership lifecycle (i.e., deal negotiation, subscriber acquisition, engagement/retention, technical cooperation, joint marketing initiatives, roadmap planning, etc.)
• Establish collaborative cross-functional relationships with internal stakeholders on the Product, Marketing, Technology, Legal, Finance and Content teams to help facilitate execution of partnership requirements and deliver on business objectives
• Assist with the development and enhancement of the general partner management strategy, processes, and tools
• Deliver key presentations to senior leadership both within Hulu, as well as external partners
• Interface with peers at the respective distribution partners and network
WHAT TO BRING
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
• 5-7 years overall experience, with 2 years of relationship management within media/technology
• Detailed knowledge of the entertainment and TV business
• Strong partner engagement skills (i.e. the ability to develop relationships and maximize existing partner channels)
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple requests concurrently, with flexibility to adapt seamlessly to rapid shifts in direction/strategy
• Ability to identify problems, quickly devise feasible solution options, disseminate the appropriate information to relevant stakeholders and ultimately bring about timely resolution
• Excellent communication skills with an effortless ability to tailor messages for both business and technical audiences
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams on technical projects, specifically in translating business objectives/priorities for product management and engineering colleagues
• Ability to analyze and draw conclusions from data, quickly synthesizing them into actionable steps supporting a broader strategic purpose
• Passion for entertainment and technology with a deep interest in the evolution of the digital/media industries
• Strong proficiency in Excel/Power Point
• Willingness to travel (10-15%)
