SUMMARY
Hulu's Talent and Organization (TAO) team is seeking a Manager of Advanced People Analytics who will be a great addition to our People Analytics team. As a Manager of Advanced People Analytics ('Hulugan Sciences'), you will be instrumental in leading the work to provide insights that will guide Hulu's talent strategy, and in shaping the future of our Hulugan Sciences team. You will design analyses to accelerate the company's understanding of its employees and their dynamics, ultimately to steer key decisions we make towards developing the extraordinary workforce that drives our business. The right person for this role is self-directed and has excellent analytical abilities, deep intellectual curiosity, creativity, comfort with ambiguity, and a natural ability to communicate effectively and establish relationships. WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Design and execute analytical approaches to address key talent-related questions, balancing rigor and creativity with practicality to drive impact in generating knowledge and wisdom among key partners
• Drive complex analytical projects that require the use of advanced quantitative methods on people and people-related data from multiple systems, and outside data sources
• Lead and develop budding Hulugan Sciences talent
• Provide analytical coaching for analyst talent throughout TAO, outside of People Analytics
• Partner closely with other People Analytics team members to inform their roadmap and vice-versa, for example guiding the direction of what new data to collect, or what to measure/monitor in live dashboards
• Work with key partners such as our Talent Advisors to hone and iterate on Hulu's approach to strategic workforce planning
• Inform the strategic direction of Hulugan Sciences' future research and product roadmap
• Create executive level presentations to bring out insights clearly and concisely
WHAT TO BRING
• Fluency in one or more data science programming language such as R, Python, or SAS
• Knowledge of both the theory and application of a wide range of quantitative methods such as multiple regression, path analysis, conjoint analysis, and other supervised, unsupervised, or semi-supervised machine learning techniques
• Extensive experience in integrating and harnessing data from multiple sources
• Knowledge of how to use data visualization tools such as Tableau
• Strong critical thinking skills born out of natural, deep intellectual curiosity that drives a healthy appetite for learning, investigating, and constantly asking why
• Creativity when it comes to generating ideas, but an understanding that execution is what ultimately matters
• Demonstrated ability to see well beyond the numbers and communicate effectively to accelerate others' understanding of the work, driving sound decision-making
• Clear communication skills, including a knack for breaking down complex technical concepts, and a dedicated attitude towards knowledge sharing
• Comfort with ambiguity, and an instinct for moving quickly
• Strong project management skills
• Passion for sharing stories and creating amazing experiences for our internal partners

NICE-TO-HAVES
• Master's or Doctorate degree in a quantitative or quantitatively-based social science field (e.g., economics, psychology, statistics, mathematics, physics, computer science, or other data science related fields)
• 6 years of relevant experience, with demonstrated success in the role
• 2 years of management experience with demonstrated leadership potential
• Experience with Natural Language Processing – theoretical or applied
• Familiarity with experimental design
• Familiarity with data visualization libraries such as D3, or visual languages like Processing
• A keen interest in behavioral economics, industrial organizational psychology, and all things data-related
• Excellent consultative skills with ability to operate strategically and build effective partnerships across the organization.
