SUMMARY
Hulu's Content team is seeking a Director, Content Partnerships who will be an exceptional addition to our Content team. As a Director at Hulu, you will manage existing content relationships and negotiate carriage/acquisition agreements with network providers and/or premium and add-on partners, work with Hulu stakeholders to understand needs of the Hulu DMVPD in agreements with content providers, and align with the Hulu Content team to maximize synergy across Hulu's SVOD and MVPD content businesses. The right person for this role is able to work with both traditional and emerging networks and our owners to build consensus around mutually beneficial opportunities. If you are someone who has deep knowledge in both the high level and the nuances of the network licensing business, is multifunctional and possesses great relationship management, problem solving, team building and persuasion/influence skills, then this is a great role for you.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Manage business relationships with Hulu's MVPD network providers, Hulu's owners, Premium and Add On partners
• Lead negotiation efforts on carriage agreements with network providers
• Collaborate closely with Hulu stakeholders to ensure that Hulu's carriage agreements reflect the needs of our business
• Communicate broadly the results and requirements included in Hulu's network relationships
• Generate ideas and drive execution of new MVPD content and feature offerings that drive revenue and profitability
• Collaborate and build strong teamwork and communication with internal stakeholders including Product, Dev, Program, Legal, Finance, Marketing and others
• Work closely with SVOD to optimize content relationships and develop cross-platform opportunities
• Conduct frequent and ongoing viewership and market analysis to inform Hulu strategy and business in moving forward
• Lead creation of analytical content reports and materials for internal and external meetings (e.g. PowerPoint presentations and economic deal models)
WHAT TO BRING
• Bachelor's Degree, MBA a plus (but not required)
• At least 10 years of network licensing and acquisition experience in the TV business
• Strong synthesis skills that enable you to distill complex issues down to understandable and actionable options
• Capable of driving internal stakeholders to consensus on challenging issues
• Strong experience leading, managing, and developing direct staff
• Good technical and digital platform knowledge including OTT and mobile devices
• Strong partner engagement skills with the ability to develop relationships, and maximize existing partner channels
• Excellent communication skills with an ability to address business, marketing and technical audiences.
• Detailed knowledge of the entertainment and TV businesses more generally
• Willingness to travel (>20%)
