SUMMARY
Hulu's Data & Analytics organization is seeking a Data Analytics Manager who will be an exceptional addition to our Data Insights team. As a Data Insights Manager, you will lead analysts in informing business stakeholder's decisions through operational analytics. You will design innovative analytic approaches to turn data into information, information into insights and insights into key business decisions that steer the strategic direction of the company. You will be instrumental in leading the use of analytics as a critical value driver and source of competitive advantage across our organization. The right person for this role has exceptional analytical abilities, thrives in a fast-pace environment, has a demonstrated ability to analytically solve business problems and identify opportunities, and has a natural ability to build relationships and communicate effectively. WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Manage resources in building operational analytics (i.e. analysis and insights, data visualizations, and automated, cross-functional reporting) to support the business' biggest decisions, challenges, and opportunities
• Anticipate the analytical needs of the business, design diagnostic solutions, and deliver exceptional data products and insights
• Act as a liaison between business units and data engineering to drive key operational metrics and KPIs for enabling business success and value-addition
• Drive the development of prioritized analytics solutions, including problem definition, solution design, and execution management of analysts/vendors
• Use internal and external analytics tools, SQL, and scripting languages to access and analyze multivariate data
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and technical approaches into business-friendly terms
• Develop and foster strong relationships and transparent dialogue with business stakeholders, colleagues, and data leadership
• Provide technical mentorship and professional career development to supporting team members
• Manage the workflow and prioritization of requests with accountability for delivery and committed timelines
• Collaborate with business units, data teams and product/program management to design process improvements for optimized delivery of diverse data requests
• Drive the adoption of analytical solutions and business intelligence tools for self-service
• Encourage the collection of new data and the improvement/refinement of existing data sources
• Measure and improve the quality of analytics solutions on an ongoing basis
WHAT TO BRING
• A bachelor's or master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, MIS, Economics, etc.
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in analytics with demonstrated success in the key responsibilities of this role
• Minimum of 1 year of management experience with demonstrated leadership abilities
• Extensive experience leveraging data to craft an actionable story for technical and non-technical audiences
• Extensive experience operationalizing analytics and insights in ''big-data'' environments into business processes
• Strong SQL skills for querying, advanced analysis, performance optimization, and persisting data
• Strong proficiency in data visualization skills with tools like Tableau, ThoughtSpot, Qlikview, MicroStrategy, etc.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, design, modeling and data engineering
• Experience with data science programming languages like R, SAS, and Python
• Experience working with web analytics tools (particularly: Google Analytics, Google Search Council, etc.)
• Excellent relationship management, strong team building, and the ability to work across business units and functions
• Ability to project manage and drive progress forward
• A high sense of accountability and the ability to multi-task and work under pressured timelines
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
