Job Summary:
Part of the Walt Disney Company's Media & Entertainment Distribution (DMED) segment, Disney Music Group (DMG) is the music hub for TWDC, encompassing all aspects of music commercialization and marketing: recorded music (Walt Disney Records and Hollywood Records), Disney Music Publishing, and Disney Concerts. DMG distributes music both physically and digitally, and also licenses music throughout the world in various forms of media, including television, print, gaming, and consumer products.
This Video Content Production Manager will be an integral part of the Hollywood Records/DMG creative department. This role will provide direct support to the Director, Video Production & Creative. This role will regularly collaborate with all departments within Hollywood Records and Disney Music Group including Marketing, A&R, Sales & Digital, Business Affairs, etc. The Video Content Production Manager will also regularly collaborate with 3rd party creatives including production companies, producers, directors and editors.
Responsibilities:
Support the Director, Video Production & Creative
• Attend and supervise video shoots
• Assist in soliciting music video treatments
• Manage secure distribution of music
• Collate and distribute creative briefs, info & materials (artist photos, bios, references)
• Manage & update treatment status logs
• Manage treatment, wardrobe, S&P comments from partners with marketing & synergy staff
Manage video award process (bids, budgets, delivery schedules, contracts, insurance)
• Monitor & update project budget & overages
• Manage audio sources (radio edits, cut-downs)
• Plan & monitor work rule compliance for minors (hours & schooling)
• Manage talent releases and SAG/AFTRA issues
• Facilitate pre-production meetings, fittings, casting, rehearsals
• Manage shoot-day logistics including artist transportation, BTS / liners and visitors to set
• Monitor & update post-production schedule (rough cuts, picture-lock, delivery)
• Manage rough-cut distribution & comments within label, artists, managers & partners
• Manage delivery & QC process
Coordinate delivery with Production Department
• Research new talent (directors & production companies)
• Book hair/makeup/wardrobe stylists and negotiate fees with their reps
• Work closely with marketing/advertising on creative strategy, ideating original campaigns (Hulu, tik tok, programmatic, etc.), ad copywriting, tags, CTA, to asset creation & delivery
• Assist with various editorial needs internally - cutdowns, lifts, social resizing, radio edits, MTV edits, audio liners, fixing corrupt exports, Ad graphics, file downsizing
• Coordinate AFM payments, paperwork & invoicing for all video productions
• Manage Production of Digital Content , including Trailers, Teasers, Lyric Videos, Webisodes
• Work with Digital Marketing squad to plan, budget & produce segments
Manage workload & production schedule
• Facilitate approvals
• Solicit treatments and research new talent
• Work with business affairs to manage contracts/rights/publishing issues
• Monitor & update budgets
• Manage delivery & archiving with Production Department
Basic Qualifications:
• A minimum of 5 years of video production experience
• Must have experience overseeing music video production (prep/shoot/post)
• Must have experience managing film crews
• Must have understanding of video production budgets
• Must have understanding of video creative and editorial
• Must be a team player with an ability to adapt and adjust to various production-related situations
• Must be able to operate within an office environment as well as in the field
• Must be willing to travel to video shoots both domestic and international
• Must be willing to work non-traditional hours including nights and weekends when necessary
• Must have a collaborative spirit but also be able to work independently
Required Education
• High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education
• Bachelor's degree
