RIGGER/Equipment Operator (Contract/Seasonal) Job Description
Rigger
• Responsible for rigging and assembling holiday elements, making pick points and mounting accessories as needed. To include shaping greenery, arranging ornaments and otherwise serving as crew during installation and strike.
• Install electrical cables for purpose of lighting and power supplies
• Safety is a top priority
• Identify hang points
• Making bridles
• Must be comfortable with ladders and heights
• Ability to operate scissor lifts, booms, genie lifts, and other aerial lifts as needed.
• Hang Christmas décor from ceiling and walls both interior and exterior
• Open availability preferred (not required)
• Must adhere to a full work shift
• Taking precautions to ensure the safety of the surrounding crew and prevent property damage
Equipment Operators are responsible for:
• Operating rented scissor, boom and push around or drivable lifts at installations and strike
• Taking precautions to ensure the safety of the surrounding crew and prevent property damage
• Abiding by the rules and regulations of OSHA regarding aerial equipment operation and taking direction from the project managers and client regarding specific on-site rules
Riggers/Lift Operators Qualifications:
• 2 years of production experience required. Visual merchandising or theater experience a plus, but not required
• OSHA - compliant Aerial Lift Certification preferred (not required)
• Prior Experience in: Theatrical (TD, ATD, PM, ME, LR), Film/Television, Production and Fabrication, Fashion events, Live events, Experiential marketing a plus
Other features of the job:
• Report to Project Manager or Crew Chief when on site, and Holiday Image, regarding staffing and personnel matters
• Call time is 15 minutes prior to job start time
• Willing to travel across multiple job sites on a given day
• Expect early days, overnight jobs and weekend work on occasion.
Contract
• $20.00-25.00 per hour based upon experience
• Contract is for Mid Last Quarter into Mid First quarter of following year (Holiday Season)
• Includes dismantle of related work
