Full Time Job
It's a rare opportunity: KETV, Omaha's News Leader, is ready to hire a sports anchor and reporter.
We're looking for someone eager to shoot compelling video, ready to tell engaging stories, and ready to bring a ton of energy to our newsroom at historic 7 Burlington Station.
You'll be covering the University of Nebraska, the Big Ten, the Big East, and great high school programs in your role as sports reporter and weekend sports anchor.
Plus, you'd be joining our award-winning, Hearst television team as weekend sports anchor.
The winning candidate will be a journalist who can find the stories other media misses. We want a dynamic leader who can develop good contacts and deliver content that sets KETV NewsWatch 7 apart on-air, and on-line. We want a story-teller who can take sports beyond the highlights and capture the emotion inherent to good sports coverage.
You'll need to be ready to produce your own sportscast: writing, shooting and writing video, developing graphics content. As with all sports jobs, you'll find yourself working on tight-deadlines, and called-up on to report live.
You'll also be expected to develop digital content and be a big presence on KETV's social media platforms.
Requirements:
- BA/BS in Communications, Journalism or a related field
- 2-years experience
- A proven record of producing and anchoring dynamic sports segments and live reports
- Solid writing and photography and video editing skills
- Strong social media skills
- Pluses for knowledge of ENPS, Adobe Premiere.
- Consideration also given for those with the ability to speak English & Spanish
