Full Time Job
This position is
responsible for the preparation, analysis, and reporting of financial results
in a centralized accounting environment providing corporate and regional unit
support. This position also ensures financial records are maintained
in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. The
position is located at the Hearst Television business office in Charlotte, NC.
Job Responsibilities:
• Prepares, maintains control,
and is responsible for subsidiary accounting records involving a variety
of transactions and accounts in high visibility corporate departments
• Prepares and posts GL
transactions for responsible areas and accounts after thorough
understanding of topic and entries needed
• Analyzes accounting data
utilizing a cloud-based Oracle ERP system to ensure accuracy of
information & calculations. Prepare correcting entries as
needed
• Prepares the monthly P&L
& cash forecast, annual budget & year-end schedules by
collaborating with cost center owners and corporate executives
• Prepare general ledger account
analysis and reconciliations, ad hoc reports, and other supporting
schedules utilizing the significant drill down capabilities of the Oracle
GL
• Be a champion of innovation and
change within the local team and larger finance organization
• Provide analytical assistance
to corporate and regional finance teams, partnering with them to ensure
mutual understanding of all aspects of the P&L
• Perform other related duties as
assigned or requested
Qualification
Requirements:
• 3 years of accounting/finance
experience including month end close
• CPA a plus, but not required
• Ability to collaborate with
others to gather necessary analytical data and present it in a
comprehensive and understandable way
• Excellent analytical skills,
strong attention to detail
• Ability to work with accuracy
and meet deadlines
• Highly organized, strong
ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Excellent written and oral
communication and interpersonal skills to communicate with other directors
and executives in multiple locations
• Ability to act and operate
independently, with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish
directives
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
(macros, pivot tables, lookup functions)
• Experience with Oracle
accounting software applications and Oracle Cloud Planning to query data
and use SmartView for analytics or refresh
data
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
or Finance
