Are you a strong writer/producer with a creative services or news background ready to prove yourself at the next level? WISN-TV is looking for a highly-motivated hands-on Topical Promotion Writer/Producer to promote and maintain our brand identity. You will understand promotion in a multi-platform world and know how to keep our product consistent. You will be able to write and edit effective topical promotion that forces viewers to stay in their seats and get them to our newscasts. You will be an expert at identifying what stories to tease to crucial lead-in programming audiences. You will be able to work independently and be the enforcer of our brand when promoting WISN 12's Important Local Coverage. We are looking for a high-energy producer who is passionate about news promotion and embraces the daily challenge of creatively promoting our product. Job Responsibilities:
• Write, oversee control room production, and edit daily news topicals for evening newscasts
• Manage time effectively and complete daily tasks including news meetings, writing sessions, and production workflow
• Lead topical shoots from the control room
• Write scripts and work in the ENPS news production system
• Edit spots with Adobe Premiere
• Contribute on other creative services projects like event, image, and contest promos
Experience Requirements:
• Television Writer/Producer experience preferred. Creative Services producers and Newscast producers welcome.
• Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro or a similar non-linear edit system is a must
• Related military experience will be considered
Qualification Requirements:
• Strong tease writing skills
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite or other NLE systems
• The ability to be a leader in the control room coordinating with production crew and directing talent
• Demonstrated ability to write compelling, conversational copy
• Work well under extreme deadlines
• Must be a team player who can contribute creative ideas under pressure
• Must be self-drive and able to hit daily deadlines and benchmarks with limited supervision
Education:
• Bachelor's Degree or some college preferred
• Equivalent military training from Defense Information School (DINFOS) and associated experience will be considered
