Job Description:
Hearst Television (HTV) seeks a liaison to provide an essential connection between HTV Design and local newsrooms to deliver the best packaged and branded newscasts in the country. Successful candidate will work with HTV newsrooms on the ongoing evolution and successful execution of the news packaging and branding elements developed by HTV Design. This position will work with individual stations to improve showcasing, branding and storytelling opportunities, and collaborate to identify future needs. This position partners with the HTV Station Brand Advocate to connect news-related station key objectives with impactful, brand-building execution.
Job Responsibilities:
• Build professional, collaborative relationships with news staffs across all HTV stations
• Collaborate with individual stations on the execution and incorporation of existing package branding and showcasing elements
• Build a community of local graphics advocates by collaborating with select individuals and connecting them to the HTV Design team and their peers throughout the HTV station group. Develop training blogs for major reoccurring events such as elections, festivals, and sports coverage
• Work with HTV Station Brand Advocate and creative services directors to connect news-related station key objectives with impactful, brand-building execution; support stations in their ability to share local best practices with the larger HTV community
• Work with local advocates to advance and develop strong weather storytelling elements
• Work in a collaborative, hands-on, results-driven environment
Experience Requirements:
• A minimum of 3 years' experience working with news graphics in a daily broadcast news environment
• General understanding of control room proceedures; ability to connect news, creative, technical and production staffs
• A passion for graphic storytelling
Qualifications Requirements:
• Strong communication, presentation and organizational skills
• Ability to collaborate with newsroom staff and creative services teams
• Basic knowledge of Adobe Premiere and Photoshop
Education:
• Bachelors Degree in journalism or communications required, however, professional or military experience strongly considered
