The HR Business Partner (HRBP), Compensation provides both strategic and tactical support to management and staff regarding human resource matters. This position has primary responsibility for the development and administration of compensation policies, procedures and programs, and provides guidance on compensation strategy planning. This incumbent will be the subject matter expert on compensation analysis/benchmarking, job evaluations, leave of absences, and workers compensation.
The HRBP works closely with HR leadership and department managers on various projects including HR programs and analytics. In addition, the HRBP will provide support with employee relations, diversity and inclusion, benefits, learning and engagement, talent acquisition and management.
What will you do?
• Responsible for the administration of organization-wide compensation program. Ensures compensation programs are administered in compliance with organizational policies and Federal and State regulations, including FLSA minimum wage/salary requirements.
• Conduct compensation review of positions to ensure salaries are in line with market; In addition, reviews position descriptions to ensure consistency, diversity, and equity and inclusion requirements are met.
• Provide advice to managers on compensation decisions, policy and guideline interpretation, and job evaluation, including the design of creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs.
• Work seamlessly with recruiting and benefits to determine compensation and create compelling employment packages for exempt and nonexempt staff, and temporary employees
• Responsible for annual merit increase process, including required audit documents.
• Establish a key role in the process of organization design.
• Act as the HR Business Partner to the VP of Operations.
• Support the action planning of HR programs and initiatives centered on employee engagement, e.g. employee surveys, training, leadership effectiveness 360, etc.
• Identify key areas for focus and improvement in areas of diversity and inclusion.
• Collaboratively work with management to promptly resolve employee matters and other issues.
• Take the lead role in consultations with Legal regarding resource actions and other activities.
• Support recruiting, hiring assessments, and interviewing programs.
• Conduct and analyze exit interviews.
• Bridge management and employee relations by addressing grievances and other issues.
• Conduct investigations, maintaining records, and representing the organization when necessary.
• Coach and advise employees regarding HR policies, practices and procedures.
What will it take to be successful?
• • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Master's degree and/or PHR/SPHR/SHRM Certification preferred.
• In-depth knowledge and work experience as an HR Generalist with 7 years of experience with employee relations, performance management, compensation, recruitment and retention, change management, talent management, and training.
• Experience with Oracle HCM.
• Demonstrated track record of building collaborative relationships and lasting business. partnerships across all levels of the organization.
• Knowledge of Federal and Texas state labor laws and the ability to apply those legal requirements to complex situations in the workplace.
• Solid experience of leading and implementing change initiatives.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; an ability to objectively analyze current practices, identify process improvement opportunities and successfully implement appropriate changes.
• Employee Relations experience and the ability to communicate ER best practices while balancing business needs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel.
• Ability to work in fast paced environment.
