Audience Manager/Engagement

This role is ideal for a marketer that applies the right combination of creativity and analytical skills to decision making and program development. This is a highly visible centralized role that requires an individual that is comfortable leading internal stakeholders. This is an opportunity to help Hearst Newspapers retain and develop digital and print subscribers with the goal of meeting volume and revenue targets.
Core Responsibilities
This Audience Manager/Engagement position will be specifically responsible for driving key performance improvement amongst our ''at-risk customer segments. This will be achieved by developing roadmaps based on customer insights and ensuring prioritization based on impact.
• Build cross channel initiatives, personalized campaigns, and customer segmentations - driving measurable improvements in customer retention and engagement
• Work collaboratively with experts across the company to help manage the development of campaigns - includes gathering and communicating campaign requirements and how best to leverage content
• Manage the creative review and approval process, working with internal and agency designers, copywriters, and developers
• Help lead efforts to fully leverage, optimize, and enhance channel development (including email, direct mail, social and SMS), and newsroom content
• Own tracking and reporting of key lifecycle marketing performance metrics against goals – analyze results and recommend next steps to drive measurable improvements to subscriber retention.
• Create an 'always-on' approach to marketing by looking at our customer's entire journey, across all devices and channels, and then create and optimize messaging/content to align with the various touch points of the at-risk stage of the customer's journey
• Work cross functionally and across markets, collaborate with our Business Intelligence, Project Management, Marketing Operations, Creative, Product, Newsroom and local market teams to build and continuously refine marketing programs, segmentation, and propensity models to create relevant and personal communication.
About You
• Marketing experience at creating lifecycle customer and campaign strategies, preferably in a subscription business model
• Analytically minded and comfortable using data to derive insights and deliver results
• Focused on setting and meeting KPIs
• Experience working cross-functionally both internally and externally
• Customer focused mindset that is always looking for ways to engage our subscribers
• Strong understanding of email with a solid underlying of the technology stack supporting marketing efforts, preferably Salesforce Marketing Cloud
• You take ownership and have a high level of accountability
• A great collaborator and cross functional partner, with demonstrated ability to influence
• Ability to formulate a clear point of view with concise communication
• A curious self-starter with a proven track record of diving into unknown territory and learning new concepts
• A college degree, preferably in Marketing with 5 years of experience
This position can be in San Francisco, CA, Houston, TX or Connecticut
