Overview
Hearst Media Production Group is seeking a full-time Coordinator to join our Business Affairs team. This role offers a great opportunity to learn multiple facets of the business side of producing unscripted content. From program operations support to standards and practices review, this position contributes to bringing HMPG's diverse slate of family-friendly series and positive programming to millions of viewers each week.
This position reports to the SVP, Business Affairs.
This position is based in our Burbank, CA office.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Support Business Affairs team on internal standards and practices review for current programming and digital initiatives
• Track network notes across a high volume of series and ensure notes have been addressed
• Track sponsorship proposals and approvals across multiple series, both current and development
• Assist with creating FCC support documentation for Educational/Informational series each quarter
• Organize and distribute air schedules, episodic titles, and descriptions to internal and external stakeholders for 40+ weekly time periods
• Create and distribute timing sheet and format templates for new series
• Delivery coordination with post-production and physical distribution partners
• Organize and submit documents to maximize royalty claims, including resolving conflicting claims for cable/satellite retransmission royalties
• Coordinate music cue sheet submission process including quarterly submissions to performing rights organizations
• Digital contract filing
• Provide administrative support to Business Affairs team as needed
Experience
• 1+ years' experience in entertainment industry a plus
• Production company, network, or studio experience helpful
• Will consider relevant internships as experience
Qualifications
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Superior written and oral communication skills
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to manage a high volume of projects with competing deadlines
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• A genuine interest in learning the business and operations side of television production
Education
• High school diploma required
