Hearst Media Solutions (HMS), the corporate sales and marketing arm of Hearst Magazines (publishers of such print/digital/video brands as Cosmopolitan, Good Housekeeping, Food Network Magazine, Elle and Esquire) is seeking a dynamic Senior Manager, Marketing to help drive strategic ad sales marketing efforts across the portfolio, innovate and apply strategic thinking and knowledge of capabilities across print, digital, social, video and experiential platforms to create best-in-class programs for the top-spending advertisers in the industry. Candidate must work closely with sales, editorial, research, yield and ad product departments to create competitive, solutions-oriented programs. The role will work to create overall strategy and positioning by utilizing research findings, ROI models, audience insights, vendor ad products and more. The ideal candidate will be a tactical, idea-focused person who is able to translate a marketing communication objective into a powerful program that leverages HMS brands and audience strengths.
Responsibilities
• Participate in the development of strategic digital and integrated sales proposals across verticals (from health and wellness to home, food, travel, and technology)
• Develop and execute category development presentations
• Create impactful presentations that ''tell a story'' by effectively integrating our portfolio of brands and an advertiser's goals
• Effectively position Hearst's iconic brands (i.e. Delish.com, Good Housekeeping, Cosmopolitan, etc.) in marketing collateral through working knowledge of its consumer value proposition, editorial character, competitive marketplace, vendor/partner relationships and research/analytics
• Collaborate with our brands and other key food-focused brands (including Country Living, Woman's Day, House Beautiful, O, The Oprah Magazine and more) to develop, package and evangelize creative, first-to-market ad sales opportunities, via proactive collateral packaging.
• Shepherd all sold projects via hand-off and consultation with the HMS Activation Management team
• Help participate in keeping the HMS marketing team current and engaged on all internal and external initiatives and developments, including sharing of best practices.
Requirements
• A minimum 3 years of experience in ad sales marketing with at least 1 years digital experience
• Strong relationship-building and multi-tasking skills
• Strong written/oral communication and interpersonal skills
• Effective time management and organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and with a group, be proactive, resourceful and operate with a sense of urgency
• Strong Keynote skills as well as fluency in Excel, Word and SalesForce
• Strong understanding of core research tools including comScore, Nielsen, Google Analytics and other syndicated data
• A firm grasp of all digital marketing principles: creating value propositions, developing ROI models, utilizing data, ad operations and contextual/social media applications
