Your Impact:
Cosmopolitan is hiring an experienced editor with deep knowledge of lifestyle topics including home decor, travel, physical and mental health, career, money, food, and pets. Aka just about everything that makes us tick as humans. The senior lifestyle editor will help run the Bites and Life Stuff sections of the print magazine as well as our digital lifestyle content. They will also be expected to make regular jokes and conversation about any and all Real Housewives franchises on Slack. This is a requirement. Just kidding. (We're not kidding ;) )
For real, though: We're looking for someone with fresh ideas, a sharp sense of voice, an eye for aesthetics, and stellar editing and organizational skills, who can work on a ton of different types of content, from writing punchy display copy to editing compelling essays to compiling product roundups to helming reported service packages. (They should also be able to spot run-on sentences.) This person should additionally be able to think high-level about brand goals and strategies and deliver against our ambitious e-commerce growth goals. The senior lifestyle editor will report to the fashion features and lifestyle director.
Please note: For consideration, resumes must be submitted in PDF format with a cover letter and a link to clips.

-Help finalize section lineups
-Collaborate with multiple departments (art, photo, research, production, and sales) throughout each issue's start-to-finish process
…for Digital:
-Edit and assign lifestyle SEO content, ensuring that writers adhere to SEO best practices and meet output expectations
-Work closely with the associate lifestyle editor and freelance editors and writers on deadlines
-Monitor analytics including audience growth and affiliate revenue, suggesting content strategy adjustments where needed
-Contribute to big-picture idea brainstorms about buzzy, in-depth stories and new tentpole moments in the lifestyle space
-Translate print stories to digital and vice versa
Who You Are:
-You have 5-7 years of writing and editing experience, ideally across both print and digital and are well versed in the following topics: home decor, travel, physical and mental health, career, money, food, and pets
-You have experience editing, managing, and maintaining great relationships with freelancers
-You're an idea generator with a strong sense of voice, and sharp story-telling skills
-You're a proven multi-tasker with excellent time-management skills who can work seamlessly across platforms
-You're skilled at using tools like Google Analytics and Looker to monitor audience growth and affiliate revenue
-You have a strong sense of accountability and can work independently and with a group
-You are thoughtful and respectful when it comes to accuracy, fairness, inclusivity, and sensitivity around difficult issues and subjects
