The Opportunity
Hearst Magazines is seeking a Sales Planner to work in a newly created health group focused on generating ad revenue for all pharmaceutical accounts. The position reports to two Corporate Group Advertising Directors. The Sales Planner will be responsible for gaining in-depth understanding of assigned accounts and supporting the Group Advertising Directors through all steps of sale and implementation. This position requires self-motivation and extreme attention to detail since this advertising category has specific requirements and guidelines. The Sales Planner must fully comprehend and adhere to all the nuances of this ad category including but not limited to billing, marketing and positioning.
Key Responsibilities
Include but not Limited to:
• Responsible for sales call preparation
• Accurately complete requested RFPs
• Handle requests/process for RFP completion which includes marketing req forms; research; positioning requests; scheduling brainstorm meetings
• Track positioning for print
• Manage insertion order approval and confirm layout
• Maintain Salesforce updates
• Attend appropriate sales calls with Group Advertising Director
• Manage internal communication with Hearst Media Solutions teams along with the Integrated Brands sales and marketing teams
• Will be responsible for some client communication regarding day to day requests
• Some administrative duties
Requirements
/Skills/Experience
• 1-2 years publishing/advertising experience
• Must be able to multi-task, have strong organizational skills and work in fast- paced high-pressure environment with tight deadlines
• Must have working knowledge of magazine publishing business
• Must have strong interpersonal skills with highly collaborative style
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Superior attention to detail and timely follow-through is critical
• Working knowledge of Salesforce is preferred
• Proficient in Keynote, PowerPoint, Excel
