Food Network Magazine and Pioneer Woman Magazine seek an energetic, poised, hardworking Sales Assistant to support two Sales Executives. Guaranteed to gain valuable hands-on experience in sales, marketing, events and business skills at cutting-edge magazines that offer advertisers true cross-platform media opportunities. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to take initiative, multi-task, and prioritize with a can-do attitude in an extremely fast-paced environment. A love of food, restaurants and chef culture is a plus!
Job Requirements:
• Outstanding professional communication skills and ability to work well with others
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to keep all work and information confidential
• Superior organization skills and keen attention to detail
• Administrative office experience desired.
• Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SalesForce)
Responsibilities
& Opportunities:
• Learn the overall sales process for completing RFPs (Request for Proposals), processing Insertion Orders, and sales follow-up
• Perform monthly competitive analysis by tracking magazine paging and research missed business
• Prepare and lead weekly sales meeting for Chicago team (client birthday mailers, share of market tracking, events updates, new restaurant happenings)
• Assist in preparation for sales calls
• Proactively create ways to streamline account managers' efforts and create a better internal and external information flow
• Opportunity to think strategically about clients' business from a marketing perspective, assisting in writing PPT decks as well as client communication
• Research, plan and execute client entertaining and food focused events
• Research and stay up to date on top restaurants, events and more
Administrative
• Oversee general office tasks: phone coverage, filing, photocopying, expenses, data entry, and travel/restaurant arrangements
• Make all travel arrangements for two sales executives (hotel, air, car service, etc.)
• Submit weekly expense reports
• Maintain and update all office contacts
• Maintain inventory of client entertainment event premiums, supplies and materials
