Your Impact:
Hearst's Corporate Research Department is looking for a Research Coordinator to assist in collecting and analyzing data about our magazines and websites, addressing everything from magazine buyer behavior to audience delivery. This information will be used primarily by the publishing/ad sales staff, but also for other purposes such as Corporate Communications and PR. The media and market intelligence comes from various databases and sources, from which each brand subscribes. The individual in this position will work directly with the research managers to gather and analyze the data.
The databases and sources primarily used include: MRI-SIMMONS, IPSOS, GOOGLE ANALYTICS, COMSCORE, LISTEN FIRST and others. Additional resources include: advertising expenditure data and editorial paging (MEDIA RADAR, SIM) or circulation data (AAM). Familiarity with these sources is a plus, however, drive and desire to break into the media field is just as important. Please note: Candidates must include their resume in .pdf or .doc format with salary requirements to be considered.
What You'll Do:
• Collect and analyze data
• Update internal intranet site with latest data
• General department support such as: scheduling meetings, ordering supplies, covering for managers when they are out of the office, etc.
Who You Are:
• Strong aptitude for numbers
• Interested in data and desire to learn how to analyze, visualize and present data
• Strong Excel skills, and familiarly with PowerPoint and Word. Knowledge of Tableau or Microsoft Power Bi or other data visualization applications a huge plus
• Extremely detail-oriented
• This is a junior position with an exceptional opportunity as it develops the necessary skills to identify a brand's equity. Those who perform well in this position can look forward to a career path in media/market research, marketing or sales
