Full Time Job
HGTV Magazine seeks an intelligent, creative and entrepreneurial team player to join our team as Sales & Marketing Assistant. The position supports an Account Director, the Associate Publisher of Marketing and the marketing department in our offices in New York.
Some of the main job responsibilities include:
Marketing:
• Day-to-day management of core programs – monthly in book promotional page, marketing website, email blasts
• Liaise with integrated marketing team to help write and design added value proposals, merchandising agreements and program recaps
• Assist in execution of advertiser program activations with marketing team (may include street teams, sweepstakes, sampling, premium gift items, etc)
• Support execution of magazine events, including signature event(s), sales meeting and others as assigned
• Provide creative ideas for events and programs, client gifts and entertainment and magazine editorial tie-ins
• Work with fulfillment houses/vendors on all premiums and maintain inventory of premiums
• Some administrative report including processing invoices, maintaining premium closet
Sales:
• Call prep including putting together media kits, competitive analysis, etc.
• Manage RFP submissions, complete internal forms
• Handling client requests including monthly issue mailings
• Ensure positioning requirements are met
• Maintaining the comp list
• Completing expense reports
• Miscellaneous administrative tasks such as filing, ordering catering for client meetings, office supply management, phone messages, travel arrangements
Requirements/Skills/Experience:
• Strong technical skills, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
• Excellent communication skills, both phone manner and writing skills
• Attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and follow-through
• Responsible, reliable and punctual
• Resourceful, proactive, detail-oriented and able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Ability to manage multiple detailed projects simultaneously
• Knowledge of and passion for tracking trends including social networking, digital and mobile
• Appreciation for home and DIY
• Candidate must be enthusiastic, energetic, creative thinker, team player and self-starter
• Must have a Bachelor's degree and internship experience
