What We Need
Our ideal Experiential Sales Lead is passionate about the evolving media landscape, an experienced relationship builder and intuitive business partner. The Experiential Sales Lead must have a proven track record of packaging and selling big-ticket sponsorship packages in the six-figure range. This is required. Key to this role is creating a sales pipeline and prospect list based on a wide range of event properties across the Hearst portfolio of brands.
This Experiential Sales Lead is a newly created entrepreneurial sales/marketing position. You will be responsible to sell new event properties that are being developed across all Hearst titles including but not limited to large scale consumer facing event platforms across the country (i.e. festivals, conferences, event series).
Ideally the Experiential Sales Lead must have sales/marketing leadership experience at a sizeable experiential agency or new media company.
To be successful in this role the Experiential Sales Lead must have an entrepreneurial and resourceful workstyle and be able to pro-actively research the experiential marketplace an event landscape to create sales leads. The expectation is for the Experiential Sales Lead to lead and fully understand how to package up event sponsorship sales.
The Experiential Sales Lead must be a strong leader with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and have ability to succeed in highly-matrixed organizations. This position reports to the Vice President, Experiential and Brand Partnership, as well as the SVP/Publishing Director, Chief Revenue Officer of Cosmopolitan, Women's Health, and Seventeen.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements
- Key responsibility is to identify and create a sales pipeline and prospect list by researching the experiential marketplace and event landscape. Must be pro-active and resourceful leading this initiative
- Maintain deep network of senior executives at major advertisers and advertising agencies.
- Forge a strong collaboration with management and multiple stakeholders across the organization.
- Must also understand the uniqueness of Hearst Magazines brands, our reach, our audience and data capabilities.
- Meet regularly with the SVP/Publishing Director and VP, Experiential and Brand Partnership to keep them abreast of overall trends, forecasts and upside for transparency and performance.
- 7 years of experience with a proven record of selling big-ticket sponsorship packages in the six-figure range.
- Superior sales skills, with results -oriented track record and proven ability to meet and exceed sales goals.
- Track record of structuring and managing complex negotiations to successful closure
- Must have high level contacts across multiple categories including fashion, beauty, finance, tech, entertainment, CG, food, liquor/beverages.
- Strong command of the advertising ecosystem; well versed in publishing economics.
