Full Time Job
Food Network Magazine and Pioneer Woman Magazines seek an Executive Director with a proven track record of success in generating advertising sales in our Chicago office. Ideal candidate must be innovative and entrepreneurial in their sales approach, maintain strong agency/client contacts at all levels and have excellent presentation skills. He/she will have an optimistic, can-do style that represents the spirit of the brands.
Key responsibilities:
• Drive revenue into FNM and PWM magazines
• Work with Discovery counterparts to drive large convergent programs across all platforms- print, TV, digital, social, experiential
• Target a minimum of 10 outside sales calls weekly
• Interact with agencies and clients at all levels to determine key initiatives for accounts
• Proactively work with marketing to create programs that go beyond reacting to RFP requests to initiate business
• Use sales resources, presentations, data, research, promotional and experiential opportunities to effectively package, sell and close sales
• Collaborate with marketing, corporate, production, finance and other teams to ensure proper execution of programs and advertising campaigns
• Provide accurate and timely business reports ie: estimates, forecasts, activity summaries
• Keep relevant partners informed (management, marketing, split partners, etc) regarding account status, proposals, etc.
• Travel to attend industry trade shows and client meetings as needed
Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years selling advertising at a national brand - CPG category a plus
• Superior sales skills, with results-oriented track record and proven ability to meet sales goals
• Excellent presentation and organizational skills
• Superior interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Conversant in new technology (digital, social, and mobile)
• Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
• Creative and collaborative seller
• Demonstrated ability to build positive and collaborative relationships
