Full Time Job
Hearst Magazines is seeking an Entertainment Director to book top celebrities and notable subjects for cover stories and inside features in Harper's BAZAAR, as well as to attend events hosted by the magazine. The ideal candidate should have a passion for pop culture and entertainment across all mediums, including music, television, film, and theater, with strong contacts and relationships in all of those worlds. This person should also have a keen understanding of current events and the inner workings of the fashion industry, and the ability to write and edit stories as needed.
The Entertainment Director will be an integral member of the Talent team and will report to the Editor in Chief of Harper's BAZAAR and the Executive Director of Talent.
Responsibilities:
• Negotiate bookings, including print covers, features, profiles, and events
• Be on set for all talent photo shoots, ensuring a seamless experience for talent
• Work closely with the EIC and fashion and features team to leverage opportunities for celebrity features and coverage
• Bring celebrities into the office regularly for meet and greets
• Liaise with the photo department on all celebrity shoots to ensure a seamless execution
Requirements:
• At least 8 years as a talent booker, with extensive experience in print and, ideally, digital
• Deep network of contacts in the entertainment field and a proven track record of booking
• Must be innovative, experimental, and collaborative
• Solid judgment as to what works to drive audience and buzz for print features
