Hearst Studios continues to experience record growth across its slate of episodic digital series, including ELLE's ''Song Association,'' Harper's BAZAAR's ''Go to Bed With Me,'' Men's Health's ''Gym & Fridge,'' O, The Oprah Magazine's ''The OG Chronicles,'' Delish's ''Iconic Eats'' and the popular lifestyle YouTube channels, Clevver News and Clevver Style. Hearst Studios is looking for a dynamic person to spearhead our video casting and talent development team working closely with our iconic portfolio of brands (Cosmopolitan, Esquire, Seventeen, etc.). This person will need to be a lover of short form video, especially on YouTube. They will be obsessed with a wide range of talent from social media stars to real people with potential and camera ready experts in a wide range of fields. A successful applicant will combine a track record of finding and casting amazing talent, helping to develop the right projects for them, working with production to get awesome performances out of talent and managing talent relationships as fresh faces grow into stars.
Responsibilities
• Lead video casting efforts across Hearst Magazines
• Scouting, booking, working with and breaking new talent as well as social media celebrities
• Vet lists of social celebrity talent and expert talent to be booked and supervise the booking process for series and specials
• Negotiate talent rates and advise business affairs on contracts for on-air talent & deal points with internal talent
• Meet with talent and agents/managers to generate new programming ideas and relationships
• Scout for and develop new talent
• Spearhead casting for existing video series
• Work to identify and produce internal talent – editors, etc.
• Produce and talent direct editors and reality talent during video shoots
• Cast lifestyle concepts and ensemble casts using social media outreach methods across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other online social communities to make inroads into a diverse array of industries and subcultures
Qualifications
• Deep interest in and knowledge of social media talent with a focus on YouTube
• Relationships with agents, managers and social media stars
• Experience casting multiple projects and generating reels to share with video teams
• Detail oriented and well organized with the ability to think and communicate strategically
• Experience in high-growth, fast-paced, deadline-driven entertainment company environment
• Strong research skills and efficient outreach methods to quickly identify credentialed experts in a vast range of fields
