Business Strategy and Insights Associate, Fashion / Luxury Insights
Hearst Magazine Media is seeking a Business Strategy and Insights Associate to join our Fashion/Luxury Insights initiative, a new, innovative B2B insights project that will leverage Hearst first party data, 3rd party partner data and client data to generate disruptive insights for our advertising clients in the fashion and luxury industry. With leading U.S. print and digital brands like Harper's BAZAAR, Elle, Esquire and Marie Claire, we benefit from a global leadership position in fashion and luxury, which we will leverage to provide a disruptive data and insights to better inform the media and marketing efforts of our advertising partners.
This position will report to the Product Lead of the Fashion/Luxury Insights initiative and will work closely with editors across Hearst brands, our product, engineering and DevOps teams, and fashion/luxury clients themselves.
Responsibilities:
• Working closely with advertising partners / clients and the editors and publishers of Hearst's leading luxury and fashion publications, develop hypotheses around trends that will drive growth and market share for these brands; structure and execute analyses to size and predict trajectory and impact of these trends; present interim findings and insights to brand partners, iterate on analyses and incorporate feedback into data-driven products.
• Work with lead Product Manager to conceptualize dashboards and product features that will enable frictionless consumption of the data and insights from these analyses by brand executives to drive business outcomes. Collaborate with DevOps and front-end product development teams to provide input and feedback during sprint cycles to build these tools, product features and dashboards.
• Collaborate with DevOps and tech leads to develop data feeds to automate data collection and on-going monitoring of key trends.
• Collaborate with editorial and design leads on execution of weekly and quarterly reports designed for luxury clients to better help them understand the marketplace and audience for their products.
• Beyond the data from the Hearst network, responsible for keeping on top of and looking at the changes within the major fashion and beauty companies, market trends driving their businesses, new sources of data to inform their business, and latest business-ready machine learning/AI and related analytical techniques to extract insights from these data.
Requirements:
• 3-5 years of experience in an analytical client services role with a leading management consulting, economic consulting or 5-7 years equivalent corporate experience.
• Versed in the players, big and small, in the fashion/luxury industry; passion for the space
• Highly proficient in using data tools to understand content performance, audience preferences and business performance
• Interest and prior experience in coding (especially Python) and machine learning / data science analytical techniques a plus
• Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and work independently to get things done
• Must be good at generating hypotheses, structuring and executing analyses, packaging content, and presenting to senior external client executives (CEOs, CMOs, etc.)
