GoodHousekeeping.com is looking for a superstar Associate Editor to join its close-knit team based in New York. The Associate Editor will be responsible for writing, pitching, and developing a variety of news and evergreen content on the site, including owning all beauty- and style-related content, for one of the largest women's lifestyle sites on the Internet.
The ideal candidate has a positive attitude and is up for writing across a wide spectrum of topics and pitching in wherever needed. We're looking for someone who is filled with ideas, knows how to write with voice, and has an eye for packaging that can make content developed around SEO keywords feel fresh and surprising! If you're a pro at finding new ways to spin up service-driven content and curate product roundups with unique angles, this is the job for you.
Responsibilities:
• Writing and producing an average of 4 news and service stories a day across several verticals. Content will include a mix of listicles, news briefs, product and trend roundups, and SEO-driven service pieces covering beauty (hair care, skin care, makeup tips and trends, personal style, general wellness, etc.), family, fashion, entertainment, gift guides, and more
• Work closely with the design and video to create assets to accompany stories
• Optimize stories for SEO and social
• Update on-site stories as needed
• Monitor traffic to understand what works and why, and gear coverage towards it
Requirements:
• At least 2 years of experience writing women's lifestyle-related content in a fast-paced digital environment
• Strong writing skills and a talent for quick turn-around on clean, voicey, accurate copy
• Strong reporting and packaging skills
• Understands the difference between a strong SEO headline and a strong social headline
• Ability to stay on top of day-to-day details and be a team player
• Familiarity with Google Analytics, Crowdtangle, or similar reporting tools
• Knowledge of SEO and best practices for optimizing content for search
