Full Time Job
The Associate Editor of Audience Development is an integral part of the Esquire.com team, working in tandem across social media and Snapchat Discover to promote stories and build out editions. The role is based out of New York and reports to the managing editor. This person is responsible for:
Social Media:
• Day to day promotion of Esquire's editorial content across platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram stories
• Monthly reporting, which provides insights to each of Esquire's main sections on high performing content across platforms
• Working with section editors to optimize packaging for social promotion
• Working with publishing partners as well as other Hearst Brands to cross promote content across brands and with brands outside of Hearst
• Providing section editors monthly insights on high performing content
Snapchat Discover:
• Work with the managing editor to build out Esquire's editorial calendar for its Daily Snapchat Discover editions
• Along with the Snapchat writer, write daily editions for top editing and creative execution
• Edit daily editions from the Snapchat writer ahead of creative execution
• Work with creative team to bring daily editions to life with motion/design
• Using analytics, provide insight to the rest of the Snapchat team to optimize content for maximizing KPIs (Unique visitors, Topsnaps per user)
Dot com:
• Be at the ready to cover news across sections as it occurs
• Pitch original essays, interviews, and longer-lead stories for the site as opportunities arise
• Assist editors in news gathering, transcribing, and building of stories for publication
Admin:
• Assist editors with booking travel for editorial trips.
