Hearst Magazines' Enthusiast Group - Bicycling, Popular Mechanics, and Runner's World - is looking for an Administrative and Editorial Assistant who will oversee the scheduling and tracking of logistical, operational, and planning functions of the Editorial Director, or with group projects the Editorial Director assigns.
The position will also contribute to the planning, creation, editing, researching, and publishing of editorial content across all brands and channels as needed and directed. The ideal candidate is extremely organized, a self-starter, a fast learner, very motivated to go above and beyond what is expected, excels under pressure and enjoys working with a large group of people.
The role is based in the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities:
• Support the logistical, operational, and planning functions of the Editorial Director and the Enthusiast Group across all channels of all group brands
• Use own initiative to attend to the many miscellaneous administrative and logistical duties of the Editorial Director and the group
• Assist with research, fact-checking, testing, photo shoots, and other editorial responsibilities, including writing, editing, and publishing content and contributing to other creative projects
Requirements:
• Up to 1 year of editorial experience or multiple editorial internships, with up to 3 years of administrative experience a bonus
• Highly energetic, self-starting, detail-oriented, relishes working independently without neglecting to check in regularly and consistently with relevant staff
• Must be able to manage feedback from multiple parties and deal with fast-changing priorities
• Ability to juggle multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines
• Robust organizational and communication skills
