Harper's BAZAAR is looking for an enterprising digital assistant news editor to cover celebrity, culture, and entertainment, as well as women's service, fashion, and viral news stories.
The ideal candidate stays updated with celebrity, fashion, and pop culture news-whether it's the biggest headlines, a viral video, or Kylie Jenner's latest Instagram post-as it's happening and is eager to share it with our readers.
Responsibilities:
• Follow news online from an array of outlets and sources including social media and Google Trends
• Brainstorm ideas for second-day stories, personal essays, and feature
• Cover live events like award shows, red carpets, and royal weddings
• Swarm coverage for major TV shows like ''The Crown'', ''Stranger Things'', and more
• Understand the BAZAAR.com voice and audience
• Manage some administrative tasks
Requirements:
• At least one year of experience writing for a digital media brand, especially in the women's fashion and lifestyle space
• Ability to write fast, sharp, clean (and funny!) copy
• Background or interest in news gathering and reporting
• Familiarity with pop culture, fashion, and celebrity news
• Strong knowledge of SEO and Google Trends
• Fluent in Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and generally a master of social media
• Must be collaborative and a team player
• Versed in using Facebook Insights and Google Analytics
• Bachelor's degree
