HBO Sr. Analyst (WorkDay Reporting & Analytics)
OVERALL SUMMARY:
Responsible for understanding the business requirements and translating them into Workday reporting solution while adhering to HBO's reporting standards and security.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Create and maintain a variety of complex Workday reports (advanced, matrix, composite, trending and BIRT)
• Create and maintain a variety of complex calculated fields in Workday (extracting multi-instances, lookup hierarchies, etc.) and have the ability to reverse engineer existing calculated fields to troubleshoot
• Design reports to answer relevant business questions and deliver HR metrics to stakeholders in an easy to understand dashboard format
• Test/validate the reports and dashboards as the end users to make sure the delivery of the data meets the requirements based on their security
• Lead optimization of reporting/dashboard performance and keep reports tuned
• Create and maintain reports catalog so that the end users get needed reports from Workday and to keep the production clean and up to date
• Serve as reporting and analytics expert to troubleshoot complex user inquires and issues
• Educate and promote self-service reporting functionality with end users
• Actively participate in Workday Community to stay in tune with Workday Reporting trend
• Promote data governance and stewardship to ensure data integrity in our production
REQUIREMENTS:
• BA or BS in Computer Information Systems or Information Management, or related area
• 5 years in HR data analyst experience, including the ability to understand the business requirements and translating them into operational requirements and/or demonstrated problem-solving experience
• Advance proficiency with Workday HCM report writing and experienced in creating dashboards in Workday required
• Understand complexities and nuances with reporting using different data sources and sharing the reports with different security groups
• Strong ability to integrate data from multiple sources and multiple formats to produce meaningful results with precision and efficiency
• Proven ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy and with highly confidential data
• Advanced proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint (creating graphs and charts) and other visualization tools
• Self-motivated with a focus on driving results and strong sense of accountability
• Strong critical thinking, excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks/stakeholders; strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to handle sensitive HR information with high degree of confidentiality and discretion
