The Job:
The Assistant Manager, HBO/HBO Max U.S. Content Planning, reports directly to the Senior Manager, HBO/HBO Max U.S. Content Strategy & Planning, and provides key support in the creation of HBO and HBO Max long-term original programming rollout materials as well as contributing to competitive streaming content and trend tracking/analysis.
The Daily:
• Support the development of HBO/HBO Max long-term original programming rollout plans
• Actively assist in preparing, reviewing, and proofing various integral U.S. content planning materials synthesizing HBO/HBO Max original programming release details (e.g., long-term original programming rollout grids, content reference guides, release volume summaries and analysis, audience handoff planning, ad-hoc decks/presentations, etc.) for collaborative discussion and dissemination across key Warner Bros. Discovery partner teams (e.g., Marketing, Media Relations, Distribution, Finance, Research, Streaming Strategy, International, etc.)
• Represent a long-term HBO/HBO Max original programming strategy and planning perspective in close collaboration and projects with HBO/HBO Max Global Scheduling and Content Analysis
• Support the maintenance of ongoing competitive content tracking materials with a focus on the evolving streaming original programming landscape; includes collaborating on the team's competitive trend tracking, content overviews, and ad-hoc analyses involving the macro-level streaming content landscape, while helping to articulate overall trends and top-line takeaways shared with key stakeholders across the company
• Assist with managing the HBO original programming development database
• Additional responsibilities include working with the Senior Manager, HBO/HBO Max U.S. Content Strategy & Planning, as well as with the Manager, HBO/HBO Max U.S. Content Strategy & Planning, on ad-hoc content strategy related projects
The Essentials:
• Top-notch organizational skills with strong attention to detail, while also having the ability to multitask effectively
• Superlative ability to interface and collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the company in a professional, efficient, and amiable manner; aptness for clear, intelligent, and high-level oral and written communication
• Strong analytical thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize data to help inform and support long-term original programming content strategy and rollout decision-making
• Excellent knowledge of the competitive streaming content landscape, with a keen understanding of current content trends impacting the industry
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work and think independently while also being a team player
• Passion for TV/streaming programming and the media/entertainment/technology sector
• Strong Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and digital research skills
• Bachelor's degree required
• 2-3+ years of full-time work experience; entertainment industry experience (e.g., content planning, content strategy, long-term scheduling) and/or a research or consulting background highly preferred
In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles that will be performed in New York City. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $52,500.00 - $97,500.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
