ENGINEER
Leading feature film, television, and commercial post-production facility located in Santa Monica, California and specializing in dailies, creative editorial, picture post, VFX, and sound post, seeks experienced Engineer to support growing operation. This position will be responsible for installation, maintenance, and performance of systems hardware and software, including servers, network devices, and workstations.
The ideal candidate for this role will have at least 3 - 5 years of experience in an equivalent role in a video post-production environment and will possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:
• Bachelors' degree in Computer Science or comparable professional experience
• Experience with network protocols routing and switching
• Knowledge of Linux systems both desktop and server environments
• Program experience with at least one of the following language: Python, Perl, Bash, or Java.
• Experience with HD/SDI and related video infrastructure
• Understanding of network file sharing protocols, in particular NFS, SMB/CIFS, and FTP
• Highly motivated, team-oriented and excellent communication skills
• Post-production workflows (DCI and broadcast video standards, SDR/HDR delivery, color science, etc.)
• Industry standard VFX pipelines (color management, pulls, shot tracking, etc.)
• Ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule to meet business requirements
Specific job duties will include:
• Providing daily support for artists running FilmLight Baselight, Daylight, Autodesk Flame, Colorfront, and related systems
• Setting up rooms for daily client sessions and ensuring creative workstations are in optimal running state
• Assisting Data I/O operators with troubleshooting connectivity and hardware-related issues
• Troubleshooting audio and video-related issues in theaters, edit bays, and support workstations
• Updating and patching creative finishing workstations
