The Hamptons International Film Festival is looking for interns to join our Programming team in our NYC office for the summer of 2019. The ideal candidate for this position has a passion for independent and foreign film, and is motivated to learn what it takes to program a world renowned, Academy-qualifying film festival.
Selected candidates will work directly with the Artistic Director and a small team of festival programmers; be a core member of the screening committee for feature & short film submissions; participate in all aspects of the curation process; correspond with filmmakers from all over the world; and assist staff with festival database maintenance & other administrative duties. Though the position is primarily based in programming, our interns will have the opportunity to interact with all festival departments on a weekly basis.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Passion for independent and foreign films.
- Strong work ethic, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, creative, and flexible environment.
- Availability to work a minimum of three days a week, 10AM-6PM, in our NYC office.
- Attend monthly screening committee meetings.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills.
- Detail and deadline oriented.
- Web and computer literate, with familiarity Google Docs & Spreadsheets.
- Must be available for the entire duration of the internship (May - end of August).
