Vice President of Legal and Business Affairs
GRB Entertainment is an established producer and distributor of highly-rated, long running programming for networks worldwide. In 2009 the company was recognized for its commitment to excellence when its A&E series, Intervention, received the Emmy® Award for Outstanding Reality Program. GRB develop, produce, package, deficit finance content for linear, digital, OTT platforms and brands and also distribute a library of 4000 hours of programming internationally.
GRB is currently seeking a Vice President of Legal and Business Affairs to join its growing team in Los Angeles. This position will report to the CEO and COO.
The ideal candidate will be highly responsible, highly organized, adaptable, detail-oriented, self-motivated, able to thrive in an energetic, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and possess outstanding communication skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Vice President of Legal and Business Affairs will work with GRB's development, distribution, brand partnerships and production departments to provide legal advice and support related to the negotiation of agreements with linear and non-linear networks, brands, talents, international networks, third party production companies, clearances and other related legal matters.
The Vice President of Legal and Business Affairs will also provide legal advice and support to GRB's Finance and Human Resources departments to develop policies and best practices related to the department's responsibilities.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Juris Doctor degree
Current membership in the California State Bar
Five+ years prior experience in the entertainment industry
Experience in non-scripted and scripted television development, production and distribution
Knowledge of guild and union issues and industry customs and practices related to such
Strong relationships with linear and non-linear networks, talent agencies and attorneys
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Strong drafting and negotiation skills
Highly motivated, responsible, detail oriented, organized, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills with a cooperative, positive, team-oriented approach and an ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Professional individual who can build strong relationships, internally and externally
