Part Time Unpaid Internship
Overview
The Grand Rapids Drive, direct affiliate of the Detroit Pistons, is seeking passionate and energetic individuals to join its Promotions Team Game Day Internship staff for the 2018-2019 season. This is an unpaid internship but can be used as college credit if approved by the individual's College/University. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Duties & Responsibilities
• Assist in the execution of all game related, grassroots and community events and promotions
• Provide support to operations and marketing teams at ALL Drive home games (24 total, not including playoffs)
• Check promotional night inventory and other game related tasks
• Assist the Marketing Department with additional projects as needed
Intern Benefits
• Approximately 5-6 hours per game
• Internship timeline – November - April
• Will give students a great first-hand experience from the world of sports
Qualifications
• Must be currently enrolled in a college or university with a Sports Business (or similar degree) preferred
• Must be currently living or have pre-arranged accommodations in or near the Grand Rapids area
• Flexibility to work long days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Must have reliable transportation
• Prior experience with event planning, event execution, and customer service preferred
• Self motivated, organized, and detail oriented
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple tasks
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environment
