Film Music Talent Agency located in Burbank is seeking an experienced Business Affairs professional familiar with music related agreements for film, TV, streaming, interactive media/video games, and other forms of entertainment media, to manage agency's Business Affairs department. Candidate must have a minimum of five (5) years' experience with contracts related to use of music in various mediums; JD preferred, but will consider candidate with BA/BS and Paralegal Certification and/or comparable experience. Prior management experience is a plus, as the position involves overseeing and managing department.
Responsibilities:
-Oversee all aspects of busy music Business Affairs department, managing department staff and client projects from inception to completion.
-Communicate professionally and effectively with agents, clients, studio/production executives and outside attorneys through all phases of agency projects and related agreements.
-Review, revise and analyze a wide variety of client music agreements in various mediums, including composer agreements, music supervisor agreements, music editor agreements, license agreements, and songwriter and producer agreements.
-Work in tandem with other agency department heads to develop interdepartmental goals and strategies and optimize department efficiency.
-Daily management of business affairs specific project entries in agency's proprietary database.
-Appropriately delegate projects to Business Affairs staff and oversee completion thereof; set departmental goals and priorities and implement necessary systems in order to complete.
Qualifications:
-JD preferred; BA/BS and Paralegal Certificate or comparable experience will be considered.
-Minimum five (5) years related experience reviewing music agreements for use of music in film, TV, streaming, interactive media/video games, and other forms of entertainment media.
-Strong knowledge of provisions central to composer and music agreements for film, TV, streaming, interactive media / video games and other visual mediums.
-Strong management and leadership abilities.
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to interact with people at all levels of the organization.
-Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, delegate and prioritize work efficiently, effectively and appropriately.
-Excellent professional references.
-Experience at an entertainment law firm, studio or production company film/TV music department, record label or music publisher preferred.
