About the Position:
The Color Assistant works closely with colorists, conform editors, and finishing producers to ensure workflows and client request are met.
Position Expectations:
-Assist Colorists on feature films, short films, and episodic television
-Ensure color sessions are setup and working correctly (project setup, video monitoring and audio)
-Communicating with producers and other operators to answer prep/workflow question
-Conform/edit timeline for colorists in Resolve
-Prep color timelines in Resolve from conformed published provide by Flame artist
-Troubleshoot workflow problems
-Communicate with conform editors, colorist, producers or engineering to resolve any potential issues
-Maintain organization and folder structure for projects in accordance with file management policies and procedures
-Create and QC deliverables as needed
Requirements:
-3 years of relevant post production experience required
-Experience with DaVinci Resolve, including conform work
-Experience working with Smoke/Flame publish color workflows in Resolve is a major plus
-Competency in Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere CC, Final Cut Pro, and Smoke/Flame a plus
-Competency in Smoke/Flame a major major plus!
-Technical competency in diagnosing issues with software
-Working knowledge of frame rates, codecs, and aspect ratios
-Highly detailed, self-motivated, ambitious with ability to multi-task in fast paced environment
-Excellent communication skills amongst coworkers and clients
-Ability to maintain a positive attitude while working in a fast-paced environment
-Flexibility and adaptability in working late and overtime hours with tight deadlines
Work Environment:
-Work both remotely and in-facility as needed
-Some physical effort required, lifting portable hard drives, boxes with tape media
