Position Title: Senior Participations Analyst
Location: Century City, CA
Reporting To: VP, Participations & Residuals
Summary
The Participations and Residuals team is responsible for preparing and delivering royalty reports to all its third-party participants. The Senior Participations Analyst will ensure that all statements are prepared accurately and in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
• Prepare and revise participation statements for various titles and conduct residual accrual calculations
• Review new documentation received and setup with Payroll House(s) for invoicing of actual Residuals due.
• Prepare sales reporting for actual Residuals due on a quarterly basis, and analysis of variances to accruals
• Assist with preparation of monthly reports of accrued liabilities and schedule payments
• Maintain relationships with Producers, Licensors, Agents, Attorneys, Finance and collection accounts and provide requested documentation.
• Consult with auditors involved with internal and external audits and provide requested documentation
• Collaborate with the Business Affairs department to ensure proper interpretation of contracts, and potential new deal terms.
• Consult with and assist the Corporate Finance department for reporting of ultimates and required documentation for audits
• Assist with planning of new accounting general ledger and cash sub-ledger systems
• Prepare and revise artist and publisher royalty statements
• Assist in special ad hoc projects as needed
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related
• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a Participations & Residuals accounting role
• Must have experience interpreting and extracting financial terms from contracts
• Strong analytical skills to identify issues and problem-solve effectively
• Ability to effectively operate and multi-task in a fast-paced environment while successfully meeting numerous deadlines
• Extremely organized and skillful in prioritizing work
• Must be able to work well independently and take ownership of projects
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word
