Part Time Paid Internship
Position Title: Summer ‘18 Business Affairs Intern – Part Time Paid Internship
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Reporting To: VP, Business Affairs, Unscripted & Alternative Television
Schedule
• Available : May 2018
• Duration of Internship : 1 Semester or 2 Quarters
• Days & Hours : Flexible: Monday – Friday 9am to 6pm (20-24 hours per week)
Summary
The Business Affairs department is responsible for legal matters as they relate to the Global Road Entertainment Unscripted Television business. The Legal Intern will assist in various stages of development and production with legal research, financial details, and option details for the SVP of Production, Finance Department, and other projects at the direction of the legal team.
Responsibilities
• Draft deal term memos summarizing pertinent points negotiated in above-the-line talent agreements for television and film projects
• Assist with drafting, negotiating and redlining various agreements including confidential and non-disclosure agreements
• Revising and updating legal status reports
• Assist in creating forms and templates across various talent deal structures
• Research and summarize relevant guild provisions
• Assist in creating/maintaining status reports and charts tracking various rights and options across departments
• Assist in copyright research, filing, and maintenance
Requirements
• Must be currently enrolled in school pursuing a JD, 2L’s and 3L’s preferred
• Must be a law student with excellent academic credentials
• Must have completed Entertainment Law courses
• Must have strong writing and drafting skills
• Strong organizational skills and must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic
• Great communication and time management
• Must be detail-oriented and able to work well in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook with some Internet and research skills
• Desire to work in a fast-paced environment at a growing film distribution company
