Role Summary
The Program Manager leads the delivery of Global Eagle's inflight entertainment and connectivity solutions to airlines around the world. In doing so, the Program Manager serves as the primary customer interface for technical solution delivery and has the overall responsibility for successful planning, execution, and delivery of multiple medium size projects of moderate to high complexity. The successful execution of this stage of the customer journey is critical to building a referenceable customer base and supporting Global Eagle's growth objectives.
Success in this position includes, but is not limited to, ensuring that all identified requirements of the project are met, as well as delivered on time while meeting or exceeding financial objectives without compromising quality.
In addition, as a member of a growing business, the Program Manager will play a significant role in defining and implementing delivery processes to support the rapidly changing technology and business needs of Global Eagle and its customers.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for the planning, execution, monitoring and control of the program. This includes understanding the contractual and functional requirements, managing changes, developing and maintaining an integrated program schedule, managing risks, and project financials
Ensure that the Scope of Work for the program is accurate and complete, meeting all contractual requirements and is agreed to by the customer and all internal functional teams (i.e., Core Team)
Responsible for the management of changes to the program by working with cross functional organizations to identify and record proposed changes, perform impact analysis, coordinate costing and pricing, planning and execution of changes with approval of the customer and/or stakeholders
Responsible for the planning and execution of the program with the Core Team to include:
Creating an integrated program plan and schedule for all aspects of the program,
Defining dependencies between workstreams,
Setting the priority of work to meet deadlines,
Identifying resource requirements and obtaining them,
Monitoring and controlling the program execution to ensure that the program stays on track,
Managing any execution issues and developing appropriate plans to minimize or eliminate the negative impact to the program
Leading the issue management process with the Core Team in documenting, assessing and the development of response plans to minimize or eliminate the negative impact to the program
Leading the identification, documentation of action items and track their progress as required for project success with the Core Team
Continuous risk management for the program, this will include leading the Core Team in the identification, analysis, response planning, monitoring and control of the risks
Managing program financials, including budgeting, forecasting, tracking costs, and analyzing variances to plan
Management of relationships with the stakeholders (internal and external) of the program, including the communication, information provisioning, and expectations management
Organizing and managing both the internal and customer Kickoff meetings to ensure the SOW and all supporting documents are accurate and approved, and setting the customer expectations for functionality and delivery schedule
Continuous Lessons Learned management throughout the life cycle of the program including; identification, documentation, analysis and recommendations and shared with the appropriate responsible functions
Developing the program's communication plan and ensure that all program documentation and reports are completed on time and communicated to the appropriate personnel, including weekly program summary, exception reports and monthly program reviews. The program manager shall also manage regular Core Team and customer meetings, documenting and distributing the meeting minutes as appropriate
Completing all program transition activities including program handover meeting, documentation, evaluation of program performance, archiving of documents and close out report
Identifying areas of process and tool improvements, develop and or participate in departmental improvement projects as directed by management
Competent in the use of Microsoft Project, Sharepoint, and other organizational tools as required
Qualifications/Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or Business
At least 5 years of Project Management experience in a customer-facing position, leading medium size projects with moderate complexity within a global multi-disciplined engineering environment
Project Management Professional (PMP) or Prince 2 certification or ability to achieve certification within 1 year of employment
Experience delivering solutions to the commercial aviation industry is desirable
Knowledge of VSAT, satellite, IP networks and telecom technology is desirable
Ability to successfully lead and motivate others in a highly matrixed environment to accomplish business objectives with strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Strong knowledge of project management techniques and tools with demonstrated competency in their application

Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
Ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced environment
Competent in the use of Microsoft Project, Sharepoint, and other organizational tools as required
