Part Time Unpaid Internship
This intern will support FX Networks' Development team, working closely with their director of Literary Scouting.
Job duties will include:
• Daily upkeep of the book scouting grid
• Updating scouting report
• Tracking and archiving manuscripts
• Manuscript/script analysis and coverage
• Some basic administrative duties
This job requires close attention to detail and strong writing skills-we're looking for a confident communicator who can take ownership of projects. You will also be expected to read the trades and ask questions; you will be encouraged to pursue things that intrigue you. The intern will also work with the Story, Development, and Current Programming departments as needed.
The Literary Scouting and Development departments work across TV development and book publishing, so applicants with an interest in literature, contemporary authors, and adaptation will benefit most from this internship.
Learning objectives:
We endeavor to give you as much exposure to the creative process, real-world scenarios, and skill sets as we can so that you not only learn about FX Original Series, but walk away with the skills and experience necessary to help launch a potential career in media.
Qualifications
• Motivated, self-sufficient, with a can-do attitude
• Interest in reading and a confident writer
• Computer and research skills: proficiency with Word and Excel a must (FileMaker Pro a bonus)
• Strong interest in learning Cable TV
• Experience with manuscript and script coverage helpful, but not required
To participate in Fox's Internship program you must meet the following criteria:
• Applicants must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited university and be sophomore status or above.
• Be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship by the Company.
