FuseFX has an opening in Los Angeles! We have opportunities at our studio for an experienced and talented Systems Administrator/Desktop Support Expert with a background in television and/or feature film VFX to join our technology team.
The primary focus of this position is artist setup and support. Secondarily this person functions as backup for render wrangling, software deployment and archival. Possibly eventually learning and helping with many other things, such as networking and VMWare.
We would prefer candidates with a background in visual effects, animation, post production or video game production and a passion for computer hardware/software.
FuseFX is an Emmy-award winning visual effects and animation studio focused on producing photo-real digital effects for feature film, episodic television, and commercials.
Responsibilities:
Technical support and general trouble shooting for commercial and custom applications on all platforms
General system administration for account set up with servers
Printer set up and support
Disk usage clean and support
Workstation setup and deployment on a Windows environment
Render monitoring and wrangling
General I.T. support and maintenance duties
Traits of a successful FuseFX Systems Administrator
In-depth OSX experience: deployment, setup, troubleshooting
Windows 10 experience, deployment, setup, troubleshooting
Experience with data wrangling and moving data between networks
Strong organizational and communication skills
Familiar with software installation and configuration
Strong interest in visual effects
Able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under tight deadlines
Ability to lift 50 pounds to standing height
Strong technical abilities, critical thinking and problem solving
Work well in a team environment
Positive attitude
Bonus Round!
Any experience with Networking or Microsoft Server/AD
Experience with render farm systems and management, Thinkbox Deadline a plus
Experience with data wrangling and moving data between networks
Ability to troubleshoot issues in artist workflow, pipeline, or hardware
Any knowledge of Autodesk, Foundry, Adobe, Houdini, or Terragen
Experience in a production environment
